Let’s celebrate 4 years of Akiya hunting together
In the midst of the dark days of the pandemic, friends and colleagues in Tokyo suddenly found themselves stuck in the midst of the voluntary lockdown. They wanted a way out, and they came to us asking for advice: “We want some fresh air. Where can we go?”
“Well, how about we help our friends buy akiya in the inaka?”
In the beginning, our concept seemed extremely niche. There were no akiya purchase consulting services aimed at non-Japanese. Foreigners buying properties in the Japanese countryside was an extremely rare occurrence. Some folks didn’t even know that it was possible. But soon the word got out, and the rest is history.
4 years later, we’ve been fortunate enough to achieve several milestones.
- Helping hundreds of clients find the best akiya on the market based on their budget and criteria
- Creating streamlined workflows and processes that enable us to facilitate akiya acquisition with ease and piece of mind
- Extensive media coverage in global publications such as The New York Times, The Toronto Star, SBS Australia, Al Jazeera, and many others
- Quotes by Japanese newspapers such as Nikkei, Yomiuri, Asahi Shimbun, and Toyo Keizai
- TV features by Japanese networks including NTV, TV Asahi, TV Tokyo, and TBS
- Opening an inaka outpost in a formerly abandoned junior high school
- Recognition by the Japan Tourism Agency, local municipal governments, the All Japan Real Estate Association, and other entities
And best of all, getting to see the joy of each client receive the keys to their very own piece of the Japanese countryside.
We owe it all to you. Thanks for being a part of our journey.
The adventure continues!
